In 2021 I thought it would be fun to make a small game about my buddy twitch streaming. After 5 years of on and off development I’m happy to say that I’m finished the project! This is the largest project to date. The development took so long that he’s actually stopped streaming but I wanted to finish it anyways.
This is the first game that I have made that contains cutscenes. I used the unity timeline system to manage them. I’ve also made a interaction system and a quick time system.
The interactive system is quite configurable. It allows for collectables to be picked up, including a magnet component to have items move towards the player. I also have a button interaction component to invoke an event that can make “something” happen like for example open a door or turn on a light.

I’m a huge helldivers fan and I really liked their quick time system. Before making this game I made a prototype of a similar system and when I started the sci-fi level I thought it would be fun to have to repair the ship by using this quick time system. This was before helldivers 2 and when that came out you better believe that I was there day 1.

Each scene was almost like a mini game jam with all the different systems involved.
